Cruising is quickly becoming one of the most popular methods of vacation travel. From small cruise ships to the large mega ships, there is an endless variety of what you can do and where you can go on your first or next cruise.
Cruising has come a long way over the last several years. With cruise stops in the Caribbean, Mexico, the Mediterranean, Australia and even Asia the sights seem endless. It doesn't even stop there, there are cruises to Alaska, the north east United States New England coast, as well as northern Europe. The options are staggering.
The cruise lines have also stepped up their game with onboard entertainment and activities. Everything from sports courts and mini golf. to bowling and IMAX at sea. There is ice skating, arcades, pools. You can even go surfing at sea on the FlowRider on several Royal Caribbean ships. Many ships even have small amusement parks and waterparks on board. Options even include go-karts and laser tag. You will never run out of things to do on a cruise ship.
Of course, you can never think of a cruise without thinking about food. Cruises have long been known for their endless dining options. The main dining room serves breakfast every morning and dinner every evening. Lunch is usually also served in the dining room on sea days. The buffet also serves food throughout the day. Your cruise will typically include dining in the main dining room along with meals at the buffet. Also included complementary is pizza, burgers and the sandwiches at the deli.
Cruise lines have also added specialty dining options. These include specialty restaurants such as the steakhouse. These restaurants offer food options that are a significant step above the what is available in the main dining room. Expect to have to pay an additional fee of $25-$50 for speciality dining on most cruise lines.
